The Gracie Mansion Conservancy (GMC) Board of Directors hosted its annual gala at Gracie Mansion in Manhattan yesterday. This year’s event celebrated black excellence.
“Black excellence is something that we should cherish as Americans and as citizens of the world…for the many accomplishments that people of color and African Americans have accomplished in our time and in the past,” said GMC’s newest board member Catherine Loevner.
Ms. Loevner also sits on the Senator John Hines History Center Board in Pittsburgh, and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Circles Board.
Ford Foundation president Darren Walker, “CBS Saturday Morning” co-host Michelle Miller, and National Urban League CEO Marc Morial were honored for their achievements and public service.
The Ford Foundation, a $16 billion international social justice philanthropic organization, issued a $1 billion designated social bond to stabilize non-profit organizations in the wake of COVID-19.
