NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Long Island man was arrested after hitting and choking another man during an argument on Christmas Day, according to Nassau County police.
Officers responded to reports of an assault at a residence on Clinton Avenue in Inwood around 2 a.m.
The suspect, Alan Garcia, 36, had been involved in a verbal argument with a 26-year-old man. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation, during which Garcia allegedly struck and choked the victim while forcibly removing his chain.
Upon arrival, police conducted an investigation, located Garcia, and arrested him. He was then transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Garcia was charged with robbery in the second degree and criminal obstruction of breathing. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday in Hempstead.
