Waldorf-Astoria worker plummets to his death at long-under-construction luxury hotel: cops

A construction worker fell to his death from the landmark Waldorf-Astoria New York hotel Thursday morning, authorities and sources said.

The 45-year-old hardhat was found on the ground around 9:40 a.m. outside the luxury hotel on Park Avenue near East 49th Street that has been under construction for years, according to cops and sources.

He had “injuries consistent with falling from an elevated position,” police said.

Law enfrocement sources confirmed the worker had fallen from the sixth floor.

EMS workers responded and pronounced him dead at the scene, authorities said.

A representative from the hotel did not immediately return a call for comment.
