HARLEM, Manhattan (PIX11) — It’s a one-two punch of pain for people who live in one building in Harlem.
They say they have struggled with no heat and no hot water for weeks.
Wearing her winter coat in her bathroom, Venus Hunter took a cellphone video. Hunter says she’s tired, another morning with no hot water to shower and no heat.
Kelly Magee, a spokesperson for building management tells PIX11 News:
“The installation of a new heating system is one of the many improvements planned for Manhattanville under NYCHA’s PACT program, which will bring comprehensive repairs to the campus. The comfort of our residents is of utmost importance and repair personnel have been on site daily to address heat and hot water concerns in some apartments. Thermostats in the buildings are currently reporting temperatures between 72 and 73 degrees. Residents are encouraged to report any heat issues to property management who are working 24/7 to respond to all issues as quickly as possible.”
