BRONX, N.Y. — The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying a group of suspects involved in a series of moped robberies across multiple precincts in the Bronx.
The robbery pattern, which took place between January 17 and February 4, involved multiple suspects using vehicles to target victims riding mopeds. In each incident, the individuals either brandished or simulated weapons before forcibly taking or attempting to take the victims’ mopeds.
- January 17 (49th Precinct): Six suspects exited a gray sedan at 1975 Birchall Avenue at 8:55 p.m., displayed a gun and a knife, and forcibly removed a 27-year-old male victim from his moped before fleeing northbound on Union Port Road.
- January 17 (48th Precinct): Three suspects exited a white sedan near Belmont Avenue and East 189th Street at 9:45 p.m. and simulated firearms before stealing a 37-year-old victim’s moped and iPhone 13. They fled westbound on East 189th Street.
- February 3 (40th Precinct): At 8:40 p.m., three suspects attacked a 27-year-old male victim on Cypress Avenue, punching him and stealing his moped. One suspect fled on the moped while the others left in a white sedan.
- February 4 (40th Precinct): At 1:00 p.m., five suspects attempted to rob a 26-year-old victim on Jackson Avenue by simulating a firearm and pushing him to the ground. They failed to take the moped, but two suspects fled on another moped while the others escaped in a vehicle.
No injuries were reported in any of the incidents…
