Bedford Park: NYPD Bomb Squad Called to Residential Home to Remove Weapons

Police said the NYPD Bomb Squad were called to a Bedford Park residential building on Saturday, March 29, to remove some weapons reportedly discovered inside an apartment.

Around four to five different NYPD vehicles were seen on Saturday at around 6.30 p.m. including a bomb squad van and an emergency services vehicle, outside 3130 Grand Concourse by East 205th Street, where a section of the Grand Concourse was already cordoned off for roadworks.

When contacted, the NYPD said that a person had died in one of the apartments earlier this month and when “they” were cleaning out the apartment, they located some weapsons and police were called to dispose of them.

Asked what type of weapons, police said they were guns.

Some people who appeared to be residents were seen at the entrance of the building during the operation. Prior to calling the NYPD press office for the reason for the police presence at the building, Norwood News asked two different people if they knew what had happened but neither had any information…
