Drivers face $100 fines as new ‘automatic ticket’ law is expanded to more roads – and fee increases over time

DRIVERS are set to be slapped with automatic tickets as fines will climb even higher under a tough new crackdown.

The more times you’re caught speeding, the more you’ll pay, with penalties reaching up to $100 per violation .

The crackdown is part of a growing enforcement program in New York , first launched two years ago, that uses cameras to automatically issue tickets to drivers going over the speed limit.

Now, Governor Kathy Hochul has announced the pilot plan will be made permanent, and officials are planning to expand the cameras to bridges and tunnels as well…
