NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – Since the start of congestion pricing , the MTA Police Department has seized 93 vehicles and issued 1,441 summonses, according to Thomas Taffe, Chief of MTA Police.
The enforcement has been largely related to registration and license plate violations, Taffe said at an MTA committee meeting Monday. These summonses were all issued in the Congestion Relief Zone, which is below 60th Street in Manhattan.

Just since March, the MTA Police Department has issued 501 summonses to drivers on the Throggs Neck and Whitestone Bridges , Taffe said. Many of the violations were related to obstructed plates and registration.
The enforcement numbers, though, are likely much higher given other law enforcement offices, including the Sheriff’s Office and Long Island authorities, also dole out tickets…
