Former Arkansas nursing home owner sentenced for Medicaid fraud and tax evasion, court records show

ARKANSAS, USA — A former Arkansas nursing home owner has pleaded guilty to Medicaid fraud and tax evasion, according to court records.

Records show that 72-year-old Joseph Schwartz of New York was Skyline Health Care’s (SCH) principal operator. SHC operated multiple nursing home facilities in Arkansas.

Legal documents show Schwartz was sentenced to one year in the Arkansas Department of Corrections with four years suspended. Schwartz has also been ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and court costs, and $1,801,620.53 in restitution…
