NYC weather: Storm system set to drop several days of rain; here’s timeline

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — You’re definitely going to want to make sure you have an umbrella or three stockpiled and know exactly where you tossed the kids’ raincoats and galoshes, as the New York City area is about to be deluged with some wet weather.

Meteorologists are currently eyeing a system that’s set to bring widespread rainfall over the southern part of the country that will be making its way into the mid-Atlantic region by Tuesday.

Come Tuesday night, that rain will hit our area and won’t let up for much of the workweek before eventually petering out late Thursday night into Friday morning when things will begin to dry out, according to Zack Taylor, meteorologist with the National Weather Service…
