Trash pile removed from scaffolding outside NYCHA apartment in Brownsville

Residents at 393 Dumont Ave. in Brownsville say for months, they have been asking NYCHA to remove a pile of trash and waste that residents had been throwing out of their windows onto a scaffolding below. The trash sat right next to the windows of resident Rosalyn Jackson.

After News 12 reached out to NYCHA on that status of the cleanup, workers were sent out that day, and cleared the space of all the trash, allowing Rosalyn to finally open her windows and take a breath of fresh air.

“The smell was so bad before, we closed the window,” she said adding that now “it smells so fresh, it’s good for you the fresh air, it helps you relax,” she said…
