Two Women Killed in Separate Pedestrian Tragedies in the Bronx and Brooklyn Over the Weekend

In a tragic turn of events this weekend, the streets of New York bore witness to the loss of two lives in separate incidents involving pedestrians and vehicles. In the Bronx, a 74-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car while walking along White Plains Road and East 216th Street at approximately 10:25 p.m. last night, as reported by PIX11. The victim, who was headed northbound, was hit by a 2024 Toyota RAV 4 driven by a 56-year-old woman. Suffering from a serious head injury, she was taken to a local hospital where she later died. The driver at the scene has not been arrested, with the NYPD continuing the investigation.

On the same night, a 32-year-old woman lost her life in a hit-and-run incident in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. As detailed by News12 Bronx, the woman was struck by an maroon Chevy that had turned off Van Buren Street. It is currently unclear if the woman was within the bounds of a crosswalk at the time of the incident. After the collision, the driver reportedly fled the scene in the vehicle, proceeding the wrong way off Lafayette Avenue, colliding with two parked cars before abandoning the car and fleeing on foot.
