City officials: Off-duty police officer assaulted and robbed in Westchester Square

A NYPD officer is fighting for his life in the hospital after police said he was attacked and robbed early Saturday morning in Westchester Square.

Officials said the 27-year-old officer was on his way home from working the second shift when two men punched and kicked him to the ground. They held a knife to his throat and then stole the officer’s wallet, phone and his gun.
