STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Esaw Snipes-Garner, the widow of Eric Garner, has died at the age of 58, according to a social media post by Rev. Al Sharpton’s The National Action Network.
Eric Garner, 43, died on July 17, 2014, in police custody in Tompkinsville while officers were attempting to arrest him for allegedly selling loose, untaxed cigarettes.
The June 18 Facebook post cites an article from The Philadelphia Tribune announcing Snipes-Garner’s death. As indicated in the story, she died early Monday morning from “health complications.”…
