NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – The city has closed 63 migrant shelters over the past year, including The Roosevelt Hotel arrival center, which closed last week.
On Wednesday, Mayor Eric Adams celebrated the closure of The Roosevelt Hotel, which became an arrival and intake center for migrants in May 2023.

“This is going to be one of the most important chapters in our books,” Adams said Wednesday. “237,000 migrants and asylum seekers went through our system. Roosevelt Hotel was a symbol of that.”
