QUEENS, N.Y. — All six individuals charged in a 2024 attack on two NYPD officers outside a Long Island City hotel have been sentenced, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced.
The incident occurred around 4:20 a.m. on June 17, 2024, when officers conducting a welfare check on three unsupervised children riding bicycles near 38-17 12th Street were surrounded and assaulted by a group of adults.
Miguel Chiluisa, 24, of Roosevelt Avenue in Corona, and Natali Iza, 28, whose address was not disclosed, both pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted assault in the second degree.
