A small but significant update has been made to NYC’s Housing Connect platform, designed to help New Yorkers get matched more efficiently with affordable housing that fits their household size and needs.
The platform-managed by the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) has introduced a new functionality allowing applicants to indicate their preferred unit sizes directly in their Housing Connect profile. With over 10,000 households connected to affordable housing across 300 lotteries last year, the improvement is expected to make a real difference for thousands still in search of homes.
“This change may seem small, but for those looking for housing, it’s meaningful. Ultimately, it also speeds up the process, helping more New Yorkers get housed faster in units that fit their families, routines, and preferences,” said a representative from the HPD team in a press release…
