NEW YORK (PIX11) — The director of a New York City program and a Bronx landlord are accused of stealing $110,000 in city funds in a fraud scheme, Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Friday.
The director of the Renewal and Rental Assistance Program under the city’s Human Resources Administration allegedly issued duplicate checks to the Bronx landlord for tenants who lived in his building, as well as checks for people who didn’t live there, a report by the Bronx DA and Department of Investigations revealed.

The scheme ran for about two years between Dec. 2020 and Oct. 2022, resulting in 40 checks worth $110,000 total being cashed by the Bronx landlord.
