Stew Leonard honored in NYC for saving a life

Connecticut supermarket mogul Stew Leonard is honored in New York City for saving a life.It was back on August 1st when Stew Leonard performed the Heimlich maneuver on a TV station employee in New York City after he had a piece ofmeat stuck in his throat. He was there to talk about his swimming safety foundation when crew member Kurt Bennett of PIX 11 began choking on a piece of steak from another segment.Leonard said he learned the Heimlich maneuver during lifeguard training for the Stew Leonard III Water Safety Foundation, which he started in 1990 after his young son’s drowning.
