Murder suspect nabbed in Utica with loaded gun hidden in waistband after NYC homicide

Utica, NY — A 25-year-old murder suspect wanted in connection to a Brooklyn homicide was captured in Utica, where officers found him armed and caused thousands in damage to a police cruiser during his arrest and transport.

Daishaughn Hodge, of New York City, was located Thursday at a residence on the 900 block of Downer Avenue after authorities received a tip. The charges stem from a fatal incident in Brooklyn on August 1.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force — including personnel from the U.S. Marshals, Utica Police, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, and NYPD warrant detectives — converged on the location and arrested Hodge after entering the residence.
