Brazen chain snatchers strike Bronx women in back-to-back morning thefts then flee in getaway car

BRONX, NY – Two women were targeted within 30 minutes of each other Wednesday morning in a pair of swift chain-snatching incidents in the Bronx, both carried out by suspects who fled in the same dark-colored Toyota Camry, police said.

The back-to-back thefts took place in the 43rd Precinct, and both victims were approached while walking in residential areas of Soundview.

In the first incident, reported at approximately 9:00 a.m., a 60-year-old woman walking her dog near Stratford Avenue and East 174th Street was confronted by two unidentified males who snatched two gold chains from around her neck. The suspects then jumped into a dark, older model Toyota Camry and fled. The stolen jewelry was valued at approximately $1,000. The victim was not injured…
