A school bus was reportedly lit on fire near the BQE and Gowanus area as emergency services responded to the scene in New York City, police told the Mirror US. Footage showed the bus completely engulfed in flames, the structure of the bus destroyed, and thick black smoke filling the air.
Footage and information posted by users on the app citizen showed a school bus completely burned down and on fire in the middle of a highway around 10:20 am on Friday, as FDNY units responded to the incident to battle the flames.
The address for the incident was Mile 5.8 I-278, as multiple citizen users posted images and videos of the school bus on fire as well as the thick black smoke in the air.
