New York, US: A 23-year-old man became the latest victim of the city’s escalating street crime when two muggers brutally stabbed him while stealing his cellphone in the early morning hours on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, highlighting growing safety concerns in one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

Despite an immediate police response to the scene, the two perpetrators managed to escape into the night and remained uncaptured hours after the incident.
