THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — A child found nearly unconscious after being beaten in the Bronx has died from the injuries sustained, according to police.
The 1-year-old was found in critical condition on Thursday, Aug. 28, just after 9:30 p.m. inside of 664 Union Ave. Officials said the child had been punched multiple times in the head.

As a result, a 19-year-old man, who sources told PIX11 News is the boyfriend of the child’s mother, was arrested and charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child the following day.
Officials have ruled the death a homicide, but have not announced further charges against the boyfriend as of Sunday night…
