NYC Supports California in Fight Against Federal Troops

New York City has joined 35 other cities across the country to support California Governor Gavin Newsom in a court fight against the federal government.

The issue is about federal troops being sent to Los Angeles to act like local police. A federal court already ruled on September 2, that this was against the law, because the military cannot be used for regular law enforcement inside the country. But the federal government wants to pause that ruling, and the cities are asking the appeals court not to allow it.
