Good Samaritan Stabbed While Trying to Stop Cellphone Robbery in Hell’s Kitchen

A man was stabbed after stepping in to help a woman whose phone was being stolen in Hell’s Kitchen early Saturday — the latest in a troubling string of violent incidents in the neighborhood.

Police said officers responded to a 911 call just after 12:50am on Saturday, October 11, at W58th Street and 9th Avenue near Columbus Circle, within the Midtown North Precinct.

According to the NYPD, a 35-year-old woman had her cellphone snatched by an unidentified individual. A 39-year-old man attempted to retrieve the phone, but the thief turned on him and stabbed him in the abdomen with an unknown object before fleeing on foot…
