New York City, NY – A career criminal already in custody for a brutal machete attack in the Bronx has been charged in a fatal hit-and-run that killed a 52-year-old cancer survivor last year, authorities said.
Details of the Hit-and-Run
Timothy Bohler, 31, allegedly struck Lelawattie Narine with his motorcycle on March 22, 2024, at the intersection of 114th Street and Liberty Avenue in Queens, police reported. Narine, who had recently completed chemotherapy for breast cancer, succumbed to her injuries less than three weeks later at Jamaica Hospital.
Her son, Darshan Narine, expressed frustration:
“He just left my mom. It wasn’t right. He could’ve just called 911. He could have tried to help her … He just ran.”
