Nurse’s aide beaten with pipe in Bronx by suspect tied to other attacks: Police

A man was arrested after allegedly attacking a hospital worker with a pipe as she was on her way to work in the Bronx, one of multiple attacks the suspect is believed to be behind.

Virginia Alvarez can barely open her eyes, as the 46-year-old is covered in bruises and both wrists are in casts. But the emotional wounds are much deeper.

She was seen on surveillance video being punched repeatedly around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday as she was heading into work as a nurse’s aide. That’s when a man came out of nowhere and attacked, as police said he used a pipe to pummel her…
