Burglary Victim Uses Apple’s ‘Find My’ App To Lead Edgewater Cops Straight To 3 Suspects: PD

Patrolman Nick Diaz was flagged down by a victim who said his car was just burglarized moments before in Fort Lee, Edgewater Police Chief Donald Martin said. The victim told officers he was tracking his stolen iPhone and iPad through Apple Find My and led Ptl. Diaz to a nearby street in Edgewater where the devices were showing, the chief said.

Patrolmen Victor Lopez, Muntaser Hajjaj and Gillian Cabrera joined Diaz at the scene. The officers determined the devices were located in a nearby vehicle that was occupied by three men, later identified as Ibrahim K. Mian, 27, of Teaneck, Rahmeir McBride, 22, of Paterson, and Brian C. Johnson, 29, of Hackensack.

All were charged with receiving stolen property, Martin said. Johnson was also charged with trafficking in personal identifying information of another and receiving credit cards without owner’s consent…
