NEW YORK (PIX11) – Federal agents dressed in plain clothes and masks have become common during ICE raids in New York City.
This has even prompted East Coast and West Coast senators to consider a bill that would require ICE agents or those working with ICE to wear visible, legible identification, including their badge number, which remains unobscured by gear or clothing.

New York ICE Director Ken Genalo told PIX11 News that officers wear masks and plain clothes for safety reasons.
“Look, traditional law enforcement agencies, obviously, don’t wear masks,” Genalo admitted. “The problem is that you have not only politicians but also high-ranking members of city and state, along with NGOs and activists, whose sole focus is to dox these individuals, put their information online, and go after their families.”…
