NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — A 28-year-old man is being charged with attempted murder in connection with pushing an off-duty NYPD police officer in the path of an oncoming subway train, according to District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Aaron Walker was charged with assault and attempted assault, as well as attempted murder, after allegedly pushing a 24-year-old off-duty cop onto the train tracks at the 3rd Avenue L train station in the East Village in September 2025.

“As alleged, Aaron Walker assaulted a complete stranger and shoved him onto the subway tracks in a callous and frightening attack,” said Bragg in a statement.
The off-duty officer was walking along the platform around 7:30 p.m. on Sep. 23 when he was punched in the head in an unprovoked attack, the district attorney said.

When the officer turned around, Walker allegedly grabbed him by the shirt and threw him on the train tracks just as the L train was pulling into the station, according to the complaint.
