Resident injured, animals rescued from Bronx apartment fire on Thanksgiving night

A Thanksgiving night fire in a high-rise apartment in the Morrisania section of the Bronx left one person injured.

The fire broke out on the sixth floor of the building on Washington Avenue just after 11 p.m.

Flames burned through the apartment while heavy smoke filled the hallway and stairwells.

One resident was hurt and taken to Lincoln Hospital. Firefighters rescued several animals treated on scene…
