CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. (PIX11) — A man is facing multiple charges, including making terroristic threats, after multiple New Jersey law enforcement agencies responded to a call for an assault at an apartment building in Cliffside Park on Friday, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
The 38-year-old Cliffside Park resident allegedly assaulted a business owner while wearing all black and brandished a knife before escaping back to his apartment at 257 Walker St. around 2 p.m. on Friday, the prosecutor said.

When officers went to the man’s apartment, he refused to comply with orders to leave, forcing authorities to call in the Bergen County SWAT Team and evacuate the building as a precautionary measure, the prosecutor reported.
SWAT units were forced to deploy tear gas until the man was finally taken into custody just before 8 p.m., according to the prosecutor.
