CORTLANDT — A State Police investigator based in New York City is facing criminal charges after he allegedly crashed his personal car and fled while driving drunk in Westchester County.
Investigator Richard A. Miller, 51, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated Thursday night, State Police said in a statement. Miller, who lives in Putnam Valley and serves in State Police’s Troop NYC, was off duty at the time of the alleged hit-and-run. He was suspended without pay following his arrest, State Police spokesperson Beau Duffy told the Times Union.
Miller allegedly drove away after his 2017 Chevrolet sedan rear-ended another car that was stopped at a red light in downtown Cortlandt around 8 p.m., police said.
