After Brown University shooting, NYPD says NYC campuses will see more officers

The NYPD is boosting patrols at college campuses across New York City after a deadly shooting at Brown University in Rhode Island, authorities said on Sunday.

Two students were killed and nine others were wounded on Saturday afternoon after a gunman opened fire inside a classroom during final exams, according to the Associated Press. A person of interest was reportedly taken into custody early Sunday at a hotel outside Providence, but police have not yet shared a motive.
