Brooklyn residents marched on Saturday to honor the life of Tyler Kobe Nichols, who was killed five years ago in a senseless attack in Kensington.
The march, hosted by the nonprofit Long Live King Kobe Foundation, was attended by the Nichols family, friends and neighbors, who said nothing has changed in the area since Nichols was fatally stabbed in an unprovoked attack as he walked home with his brother from a barbershop.
“I was there the day Tyler died. His passing has changed my life forever and now I live to carry his legacy with me everyday,” Shayne Nichols, Tyer’s brother, said in a statement. “We are here marching today because if any of you were in Tyler’s position he would have marched for you.”
