Pedestrian killed by scaffolding during East Harlem crash, police say

A pedestrian was struck and killed by falling scaffolding after a recycling truck pushed a parked car into the structure during a crash in East Harlem Tuesday, authorities said.

The truck crashed into an unattended car near East 101st Street and First Avenue around 6:30 a.m., forcing the vehicle onto the sidewalk, where it struck a scaffolding shed, police said.
