NEW YORK (PIX11) — Thousands of New Yorkers spent Christmas surrounded by food, laughter, and community thanks to a long-standing holiday tradition on the Upper West Side.
Music filled the air as a man played Christmas tunes on his accordion at Goddard Riverside, where the annual Christmas meal brought together neighbors old and new.

The decades-old event was open to anyone in the community and served more than 1,000 home-cooked dinners, both on-site and delivered to nearby homes. Tables were decorated for the holiday as volunteers carried trays of turkey, sweet potatoes, and greens to grateful guests.
