On Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 7:38 p.m., a police officer was on patrol when a man flagged him down and reported that two individuals had entered his business on the 6900 block of Kennedy Boulevard and attempted to rob him while armed Guttenberg Police Chief Frank Pelaez said.
The victim directed the officer to a nearby gas station, where one of the suspects, Carlos Hernandez, of Wallington, was told to exit the vehicle, police said. Hernandez was taken into custody without incident, Pelaez said.
Soon after, the officer saw Crismar Vasquez, a West New York resident, walking toward the gas station and approaching the pickup truck, police said. Vasquez was also taken into custody, Pelaez said…
