AT&T Employee Calls In Bomb Threat To Edgewater Target Store During Work: Cops

Edgewater police received a phone call reporting a bomb threat at the Target located in Edgewater Commons, 543 River Road, at 1:41 p.m., according to the Edgewater Police Chief Donald Martin. Officers cleared all patrons and employees from the store without incident, police said.

The store was searched and deemed safe to re-enter with assistance from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit, while the Edgewater Fire Department also assisted, police said. The Target reopened at 2:30 p.m., according to authorities.

Following an investigation by the Edgewater Police Detective Bureau, detectives identified the suspect as Jossi Duarte, a 22-year-old woman from West New York, police said. Duarte was working inside the store as an AT&T sales representative at the time of the threat and was captured on Target surveillance video walking away from her work area to make the call on her cell phone, police said.
