Popular fashion retailer to close 2 of its NYC locations this month

Swedish-based fast-fashion retailer H&M will close two New York City stores this month, adding to the brand’s tally of approximately 200 closures that took place in 2025.

“We can confirm that our stores at 150 East 86th Street and 18 Church Street will close in January 2026,” an H&M spokesperson confirmed via email. “Assessing and reviewing our store portfolio to adapt to changing customer behavior is something that we have done ever since we opened our first store. While physical stores will always remain important to us and something we continue to invest in, having the right stores in the right locations is vital to ensure our long-term and sustainable growth.”

The company directed shoppers to visit its other NYC locations, including its Staten Island stores in Empire Outlets, St. George, and the Staten Island Mall, New Springville…
