A 46-year-old landscaper from Hackensack has been arrested and charged in connection with two residential burglaries, including one in which a 13-year-old girl was home alone, police announced Friday, Jan. 9.
Armando Echevarria went into the first home on Union Street through an unlocked front door just before 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, Hackensack Police Capt. Darrin DeWitt said.
While inside the apartment, Echevarria rummaged through rooms and encountered a 13-year-old girl who had been sleeping, according to DeWitt. The girl was awakened by a flashlight before he fled the residence with two 18-karat gold necklaces worth several thousand dollars, the captain said…
