Eric Adams’ Return To Private Life off to a Rough Start (Thankfully)

I was elated when Zohran Mamdani was sworn in as the new Mayor of NYC. He’s already doing great work. The Mayor has worked with the Governor to institute free child care that will help nearly 100,000 NYC children (with plans to expand to even more in the coming years). The man rolled up his sleeves and helped pave over a bike ramp that was causing issues. The dude got right down to business, attempting to improve the lives of New Yorkers, in a significant change from his predecessor.

Eric Adams left NYC in disgrace. The man had spent years being an ineffective leader by cutting funds to social programs in favor of ballooning budgets for police officers, regularly demonizing the unhoused and other NYC citizens, and he did it all while partying at nightclubs and spouting stupid catchphrases. Then, in the last year of his term, he began selling out the city to the current presidential administration so he could get a pardon for corruption charges (allegedly, I guess). He sucks.

Part of me was pretty sure that, after he was banished from the city, I wouldn’t write about him again. I’d still have to see his miserable face, likely as a contrarion correspondent on CNN or some such nonsense, but I could avoid having to think about him too much. But, dangit, the man has had a rough week, and I feel like smiling, so why not dig into it a little bit? For instance, would it surprise you to learn that Adams is currently at the center of a potential crypto scam?…
