North Haven man accused of sharing intimate video granted diversionary program despite objections

NORTH HAVEN — Despite objections from the victim, a Meriden Superior Court judge on Tuesday approved accelerated rehabilitation for a former North Haven man who is accused of sharing a video involving sexual content with another woman last summer without her knowledge.

Winston Bethune, 25, who now lives in New York City, was arrested by North Haven police on Oct. 2 and charged with dissemination of an intimate video.

Judge Richard Rubino granted accelerated rehabilitation, a diversionary program for first-time offenders, for a period of two years. If Bethune stays out of trouble for two years, the charge he faces will be dismissed…
