A tragic start to 2026 in the Bronx saw the year’s suspected first homicide when a rideshare driver was shot dead early on New Year’s Day. According to Hoodline, the 55-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds to the head, near Morris Avenue and the Cross Bronx Expressway.
