Firefighters Save New Milford Home After Basement Blaze Erupts

Firefighters turned out in frigid temps to save a Bergen County home from destruction after a basement blaze broke out this weekend.

The New Milford Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, to a Berkeley Street home after a possible structure fire was reported, according to the department. Police confirmed an active fire while crews were responding, prompting additional assistance from neighboring towns, officials said.
