NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — A young man with hopes of being a police officer is now facing some charges that may not allow him to pursue those dreams.
Eray Celiksoy, 21, is an NYPD police cadet, someone who does community outreach or administrative work before starting the police academy. Now, he’s been arrested and charged with robbery, strangulation and assault, police said.

The incident happened on Sunday evening in Brooklyn on East 4th Street and Avenue W. A 51-year-old woman is accusing the cadet of punching and kicking her and taking her cell phone while the two were arguing, police said.
At one point, the fight escalated, and he put his hands around her throat, according to the NYPD. Police say Celiksoy and the woman were strangers…
