NEW YORK (PIX11) — A former officer with the New York City Department of Corrections is facing charges after being accused of stealing $9,332 in sick time, according to the Department of Investigations.
The 42-year-old West Babylon resident allegedly submitted 26 fake medical notes between April 2021 and April 2022, claiming she received treatment at various medical facilities, the investigation revealed.

As a result, the former officer is accused of pocketing more than $9,000 in sick time she was not entitled to, while also receiving an annual salary of more than $98,000, according to Christopher Ryan, the acting commissioner of the New York City Department of Investigation.
