Lockdown at Hoboken High School

Hoboken High School remains on lockdown as police investigate a potential threat reported to the school’s main office. The Hoboken Police Department has closed streets and urged the public to avoid the area.

In an email to families sent at approximately 3:15 p.m., Principal Robin Piccapietra said the lockdown was initiated “in an abundance of caution” following a call to the principal’s office that “may or may not be deemed a threat.” The call came in at approximately 2:45 p.m., shortly after dismissal.

“We ask that you avoid the area outside Hoboken High School and avoid any onsite pick up of your child or children at this time,” Piccapietra wrote. “We will dismiss as soon as the police conclude their investigation and deem that the situation is all clear.”…
