NYPD to deploy 200 more officers as Bronx amid ongoing concerns around crime

BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — The NYPD is still investigating a deadly dispute in a Bronx subway station, and while the search continues for the gunman, the NYPD plans to change the way it tackles violent crime in one of the hardest-hit boroughs.

Gun violence impacted the afternoon rush hour on Tuesday on a southbound platform at the 170th Street station.

Police say a gunman shot a 41-year-old man after a dispute. The victim was found bleeding on the platform. He was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where he died.
